The Process

Made for you. Signed off by you.

Two to four weeks, from design to your hand.

Every RW piece is made to order in our workshop. You see a CAD design of your ring before it is cast, and you can sign it off yourself if you would like to. Nothing is mass produced, and nothing is a surprise.

01

Choose your design

Select a shape, carat weight, clarity, colour and metal from RW Icons, or describe something of your own. Every price is shown before you commit, nothing is quoted after the fact.

02

Place your order

Your piece is confirmed and your stone is reserved against its IGI certificate. This is the point production begins, so your ring is made for you, not pulled from stock.

03

CAD design

Our workshop produces a full CAD rendering of your piece, proportions, setting height, band width, stone placement. This is where fine adjustments are made.

04

Final sign-off

If you would like it, the final CAD image is sent to you for approval before anything is cast. Nothing goes into production until you are happy with what you are looking at. If you would prefer to leave it with us, we simply proceed.

05

Made and set by hand

The piece is cast, hand finished and the certified diamond is set and inspected. Your IGI certificate and inscription are matched to your stone before dispatch.

06

Delivered

Expected delivery is two to four weeks from order, fully insured and tracked, in New Zealand or worldwide. If you have a date to meet, tell us early and we will work to it.

The Guarantee

Lifetime manufacturing guarantee

Every RW piece in 9k, 14k, 18k gold or platinum is guaranteed against manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the original owner. If a genuine making fault appears, we repair or replace the piece at no cost to you, shipping included. It applies with proof of purchase, and while the piece has not been altered or repaired by anyone else.

It does not cover everyday wear and tear, accidental damage, or chipped or lost stones, we recommend insuring your piece for those. We also recommend a complimentary annual clean and setting check with us, so wear is caught before a stone is at risk.

What is covered

  • Manufacturing defects in the metal, such as porosity or casting faults
  • Uneven, loose or incorrectly finished settings identified at delivery or at a service with us
  • Rhodium plating faults present at delivery
  • Stones lost through a proven manufacturing or setting fault
  • Structural workmanship faults under normal wear

What is not covered

  • Everyday wear and tear, scratches, dents, thinning bands, worn or bent claws
  • Accidental damage, impact, misuse, loss or theft
  • Chipped, cracked or scratched diamonds and gemstones caused by knocks or wear
  • Chemical damage or discolouration from chlorine, bleach, cleaning products, cosmetics or perfume
  • Work carried out by another jeweller, or any alteration to the piece by anyone other than RW
  • Damage that follows from declining a repair we have recommended at a service

COMPLIMENTARY RESIZE

One complimentary resize within 60 days of delivery on most rings. Full eternity bands and heavily set shanks may not be resizable, we will tell you before we make it.

ANNUAL CHECK & CLEAN

A complimentary professional clean and setting check each year is a sensible condition to keep. It catches wear before a stone is at risk, and keeps a clear service history on your piece.

MADE-TO-ORDER RETURNS

Made-to-order and bespoke pieces are not eligible for change-of-mind returns once production begins. Your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act always apply and are never excluded.
